DREAM GIRL

You came to me When it was dark Too quiet for the words we’re sharing Your hair is like a silver spark The ghost of laughter, softly flaring I’m reaching out to hold your hand But only touch the empty air Your name is written in the sand Upon the sheets we used to share Who are you? Tell me true Are you a dream or someone real? The night is cold The night is blue I’m losing everything I feel Dream girl, where do you hide? Morning takes your face away I remember how I tried To keep the light of yesterday I’m in love with silence now Where you used to be so near Dream girl, make a vow Never let me disappear Your perfume’s lingering on the bed Or maybe I’m just going crazy I’m lying to myself instead That I forgot your face so hazy I dial your number into void It’s a habit, strange and deep Every shadow is destroyed By the secrets that I keep Who are you? Tell me true Why does the night become a cage? If you leave me, keep the view While I’m turning every page Dream girl, where do you hide? Morning takes your face away I remember how I tried To keep the light of yesterday I’m in love with silence now Where you used to be so near Dream girl, make a vow Never let me disappear Maybe you live just down the street Around the corner... hey Drinking coffee, bitter-sweet Every morning, getting older Maybe you believe it too There’s a space where we can meet Just like people always do Laughing in the summer heat Dream girl, where do you hide? Morning takes your face away I remember how I tried To keep the light of yesterday I’m in love with silence now Where you used to be so near Dream girl, make a vow Forever Come to me When it’s dark I’ll go to sleep early tonight If it’s a movie, leave a mark I want to stay within this light
