Gathering my strength

[Verse] Everything's normal, just another day Same old sun in the sky, in its usual way But I feel a shadow, slowly creeping in Reality's shifting, into a nightmare's spin One call, shadowing everything with night And the words he's gone take flight Can't cope with the tears, they begin to flow And all I can do is breathe, in silence, slow [Chorus] Gathering my strength, deep within But a tear rolls down, on my skin And I hold on to fate, so firm But there's only a thunderstorm, in my term To embark on my final journey But my path is barred, no attorney Goodbye my friend, and forgive me Nothing can be returned, can't you see [Verse 2] Filling my mind, with a void so vast Then whirlwind of memories, from the past In waves, they rush, stronger still Cheerful laughter, stern look, a bitter pill There was care, kindness, in his tone But time can't be reversed, he's forever gone Now he's gone forever, beyond the hill Reality's a dream, a bitter pill [Chorus] Gathering my strength, deep within But a tear rolls down, on my skin And I hold on to fate, so firm But there's only a thunderstorm, in my term To embark on my final journey But my path is barred, no attorney Goodbye my friend, and forgive me Nothing can be returned, can't you see [Verse 3] Everything's normal, just another day Same old sun in the sky, in its usual way What I couldn't say, it's a mournful tune Not to see off on my final journey, under the moon But I believe he could understand, he was very wise I know he could forgive, under the skies [Chorus] Gathering my strength, deep within But a tear rolls down, on my skin And I hold on to fate, so firm But there's only a thunderstorm, in my term To embark on my final journey But my path is barred, no attorney Goodbye my friend, and forgive me Nothing can be returned, can't you see
