Down in the Valley

I don't always understand Why things happen as they do. And sometimes I've questioned my Lord's way. I've wondered, does He really care? When I worry and complain, And it all seems so in vain, I find myself praying, and I Find myself hoping For the mountain top, but it's Down in the valley I grow. Because roses don't bloom High on a mountain Peak. Though beauty is there, it's oh so Cold and steep. But down in the valley, One thing is sure. Though the mountains are beautiful, Down in the valleys I grow. I have so much yet to learn Of my Father's loving care. For He says these trials in my life Are so much more precious than gold. Though my heart is filled with pain, Though it seems I can't go On, Just when I need Him most, yes, Just when I need Him most, He Gently reminds me That it's down in the valley I grow.
