Highway Dirt Wings

My wings are heavy and they’re covered in the dirt Every step I take is just another world of hurt I’m standing on the highway, praying for a light A fallen shadow in the middle of the night I’m reaching out, but they just drive by Fake feathers broken, I’m too weak to fly I’ve got to reach you, I’m running out of time! I’m screaming at the wind, but no one hears the sound I’m dragging all my failures on this frozen ground I promised I would guard you, I promised I’d be there But now I’m breathing in the cold and empty air I’m too far away! I’m losing the race! I’m staring at the ghost of your face!
