Sleep Beloved Sun

Hush now, golden fire. Day's closing eye. From my lonely heaven, I'll sing you To the night. Your colors spill on oceans wide. You melt into the sea. The world grows soft and silver bright when you Surrender, finally. Every glow that slips away, I gather In my light. Lay your tired flames to rest. I'll hold them through the night. Sleep, beloved sun. Your journey's just begun. In the hush of twilight's hand, Drift to dreamland. Lullaby for the sun, I watch while you Sleep. Spin on, turn on Through shadows so deep. Rest now, oh, Let the dark keep. I'll be your moonlight, 'til you rise and repeat. La-la-lay. La-la-lay. I'll shine for you. La-la-lay. You chase the clouds and touch the sky. You burned away the blue. Now close your eyes, the world is mine to Whisper dreams to you. No goodbyes, just promise kept. We'll meet in morning's glow. I'll dance on waves your fire left until you Come back home. Rest in my arms, travel through the Dark. Sunset and moonrise never truly Apart. Lullaby For the sun, sleep in my light. I'll cradle your colors All through the night. Shine on tomorrow, My old faithful friend. I'll be waiting Where night meets end. Hush now, golden fire. The night will hold you tight. From the edge of forever, I'll sing you goodnight.
