My First Valentine

Sunday morning light upon the sheets. The sound of cars on distant city streets. But in here the world is calm and slow. Nowhere else that I would rather go. Your coffee cup is steaming on the stand. I reach across to gently take your hand. It's the simple things that make me stay. Loving you in every single way. We don't need a diamond or a plane. Just a blanket and the sound of rain. Warm and cozy, safe inside our nest. Of all the loves, I know that this is Best. You laugh at jokes I told a thousand times. We're making up our silly little rhymes. The way you look in that old faded tee. Is everything that matters now to me. Let the hours tick away so fast. I know this happiness is built to last. It's the simple things that make me stay. Loving you in every single way. We don't need a diamond or a plane. Just a blanket and the sound of rain. Warm and cozy, safe inside our nest. Of all the loves, I know that this is Best.
