September

It was September, A golden evening light. I was walking to your meeting, wondering what was Waiting that night. Was it destiny calling Or just another road? I didn’t know that night You’d see behind my eyes. With you, I dropped my armor. I didn’t have to pretend. You saw the softer side of me, The girl I’d never let them see. September, you knew me. You knew the girl inside. The one who laughed so freely. The one I used to hide. September, you saw me without my walls, Without disguise. You were the only one who knew me, The only one who saw my eyes. Только ты меня знал такой. Только ты меня звал судьбой. С тобой я смеялась, с тобой я жила. С тобой я собою когда-то была. To everyone, I was the strong one, The woman made of steel. I knew how to hide my feelings. I knew what not to reveal. But with you, I was a little girl, Soft-hearted, wild and free. I laughed until I couldn’t breathe. You brought that girl back to me. You knew the girl beneath it all, The one I never showed. You knew the secret side of me That nobody else could know. September, you knew me. You knew the girl inside. The one who laughed so freely. The one I used to hide. September, you saw me without my walls, Without disguise. You were the only one who knew me, The only one who saw my eyes. Береги меня, родной. Не играй моей душой. Я тебе открыла дверцу И пустила прямо к сердцу. And then our story ended, and we went our Separate ways. But I won’t forget that girl, the one you Helped me find. Я всё ещё умею смеяться. Я всё ещё умею любить. И если смогла я однажды, То снова смогу полюбить. September, you knew me. But now I know me too. The girl you saw beside you, the girl I Showed to you. September, I’m ready For a love that’s meant to stay. If I could love you deeply, I can love again someday. Ты был моей любою, Но не моей судьбой. Ты стал страницей моей жизни. Я пролистну её рукой. September, you were not the ending. You were just the turning page. You gave me back the girl I was. And now She’s not afraid.
