Scratch-Off Halo

I found a scratch-off In the glove box dust. Your lucky quarter And a dented bus pass. The counter girl looked up like she knew my Name. I smiled too hard and bought the same, Same game. One little line, then another line. My heart went quick when the silver Shined. Lucky, lucky, lucky in my palm tonight. Lucky, lucky, lucky, everything feels right. Scratch it slow, let the whole room glow. Lucky, lucky, lucky, Tell me what you know. Mom called from home, Said, "Did you eat yet?" I said, "Not yet," But I felt so set. The dog at the door started wagging wild. I laughed out loud like a little kid's smile. One more swipe, then the edge gave way. Every small thing turned bright that day. Lucky, lucky, lucky in my palm tonight. Lucky, lucky, lucky, everything feels right. Scratch it slow, let the whole room glow. Lucky, lucky, lucky, tell me What you know. Maybe it's a whim, maybe it's a joke. Maybe the universe just likes a hopeful folks. I don't need gold, I don't need much. Just one clean sign and your hand to Touch. Lucky, lucky, lucky in my palm tonight. Lucky, lucky, lucky, everything feels right. Scratch it slow, let the whole room glow. Lucky, lucky, lucky, tell me What you know.
