Highway

The engine starts, the morning breaks. Leaving all of my mistakes. Coffee cup and a tank of gas. Watch the city shadows pass. The tires hum upon the gray. Steering wheel to lead the way. Roll the windows, feel the breeze. Chasing sunsets through the trees. Distant towns and open skies. Wonder shining in our eyes. Miles ahead and miles behind. Peace of soul is what we'll find. Down this endless open road. Dropping every heavy load. No, No destination on the screen. Just the greenest pasture seen. Foot on the pedal, let it flow. Anywhere we wanna go. The night is coming, Stars align. This open highway is all mine. Just drive. Keep on moving through the night. Headlights shining, burning bright. Far away To a brand new day.
