After I Am Gone

When the night grows quiet and my chair's still, And the house feels colder on the windowsill. If my voice don't echo down the hall, Don't think I'm lost. I heard His call. I walked through valleys dark and deep, Where broken fathers fall and weep. But Psalm twenty-three kept holding on. The Shepherd said, "You're not alone." After I'm gone, don't cry too long.
