Life is Short

I used to keep a list of what was Wrong. Crossing nothing off, just adding more. I told myself I'd rest when the list was Empty, but the list was never what I thought It was for. Problems don't come with a final Page, they just change their name and knock again. But I've got a number on my own days, And theirs don't seem to end. My life is short. The problems, they're not going anywhere. So I stopped waiting for the clearing, And started living right here. My life is short. I won't spend it keeping score. Some days the weight will still be heavy. I'm not asking it to disappear. I'm just done postponing the living for a day That never gets here. I'll still lose things, I'll still feel behind. That part of life was never in my hands. But how I spend the hours I've got left Is still mine to plan. My life is short. The problems, they're not going anywhere.
