Hours after hours of muffled sounds Airplanes crashing Cars driving by Their lights trying to pierce the dark But instead getting swallowed by it And then again silence Hours after hours Silence and fears Darkness and a full imagery of terrifying emotions King’s horror novels can’t help shed me this feeling When I turn off the light, nothingness overwhelms me And it’s just me and my fears Just me and my shadows, my monsters, my nightmares Pale walls surrounding me, liquid in their deafness Block the sound of love making that comes from the other apartment.
