Twice

You were all caps marker on my bedroom wall. Half-thought plans pinned up just to watch them Fall. You said follow me out past where the Pavement ends. Flashlight beam shaking in our stupid Hands. You left, I never asked where. Just walked right into thin air. Your shadow, my face, same light. You left, I let my doubts be. You left, I let it all decide me. If I turn back, do I turn into myself? If I stand still, do you vanish somewhere Else? I'm one step behind the life we meant. Say when, And I'll move again. You Left, I never asked where. Just walked right into thin Air. Your shadow, My face, same light. You left. I don't know Who I'd be. If you hadn't left me.
