Before I Pass Away

One day this old house will grow silent. No footsteps down the hall. The chair where I sit every evening Won't hear my voice at all. Right now life keeps you running, And time feels far away. But time has a quiet way of leaving Before we know the day. I don't need forever from you. Just moments while I stay. Because flowers mean much less When they come too late.
