Not Every Road

Some people stay long enough to change you. Some are gone before you learn their name. I used to think that meant they mattered less, But time was never the measure of the same. A single conversation shifted how I see things. A single year with someone barely left a trace. It was never about how long they stayed. It was about what they left in place. Not every road Is meant to last forever. Not every hand Was meant to hold on tight. Some paths were only meant to cross for a Moment, and that moment was still right. Not every road, but every one of them was Life. I don't ask anymore why some left early. Nothing was ever promised to be long. Some people are a whole season of my life. Some are just one honest conversation. I keep my door a little open out of Habit, not because I'm waiting for one face, But because someone always finds their way in Eventually and stays exactly as long as they're Meant to stay.
