Took Me by Surprise 1950's Soul Version E

I was walking straight, Head held high. Coffee in my hand, No reason to sigh. Then you walked in, Lord, I froze. Like a spark just danced up my nose. You lit a fire in my chest. Oh yeah, she's blessed. Caught me slippin' in my best. Didn't see that guest. You took me by surprise like thunder on a Sunny day. Turned my calm into a swing, Now I just can't look away. You hit me like a groove I didn't know I missed. Now my world's been shaken all because We kissed. Oh you took me by surprise, By surprise, By surprise. My heart skipped a beat, then two, Then four. I walked in cool, now I'm dancing out the Door. The sidewalk humming, birds in tune, And my soul starts singing like a brass band Swoon. What did you do to me, boy? She can't sit still. Turned my plain life into joy. Ooh, that thrill. You took me by surprise like sugar in my Morning tea. I didn't need no warning, Now you're all I see. Hit me like a rhythm that I can't resist. Now my heart's got hands and it's clenching a Fist. Ooh, you took me by surprise. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Didn't plan for love, didn't write it down. But the beat found me, Spun me round. Now my heels don't touch the floor. I don't want calm no more. You took me by surprise like a song I Never knew. Played one note and I just flew. Like a tambourine in a gospel line. Your love shook me down, now I feel so Fine. Oh, You took me by surprise. Took her, shook her, now she's high. Surprise, surprise, that sweet Surprise. Oh yeah, didn't see it coming, But I'm so glad it came. Love like lightning, never the same. Oh You took me, me by surprise
