Beneath the Night Bridge

Beneath the bridge where night falls sighs. The wind alone still dares to cry. My footsteps wander, lost in stone. In a silent town, I walk alone. The lights are blurred in water's flow. A shadow stirs from long ago. A jazz tune floats from a distant bar. It reaches deep where lost hearts are. Some nights have no names to tell. We were just shadows where silence fell. Beneath the bridge, only the echoes stay. As the saxophone slowly fades away. Someone left and won't return. But the bridge still stands and Burns. And I remain with this refrain. A silent song that holds my name. I'll wait here till the break of day. Let my longing drift away. We won't call names one final time. Let night keep words we left behind.
