But there is a Houston rapper who has taken A more hands-on approach to helping his fellow Harvey victims. Tray the Truth joined the growing List of volunteer rescuers after he was rescued from His own home. One of the many reasons he's Been honored by his hometown for a decade now. There's actually a Tray Day in Houston on July 22nd for his humanitarian work for this great Texas City. So Tray the Truth is with me now From the convention center. And Tray-Somewhere down on my knees, I make A call to God like he the last one Left. It's kinda hard to get through it. I'm somewhere yellin' for help. It's like the whole world deaf. And though I'm tryna see through it, I'm feelin' Life is abysmal. Ain't no point of even tryin'. They say it could've been worse. It probably never get better watchin' the blind lead Blind. You never know your position until it got Used. Yeah, I know it ain't nothin' perfect about Truth. I had this pain on lock, somehow it Got loose. It's like we been through hell, somehow We got through. Watchin' it rain so hard, like What we gon' do? The sky was black, the Rain was pourin' Devastation, wind was blowin' Water Risin', overflowin' They cryin' for help and Lord, I'm goin' I gotta do my best. Both feet in, water to my chest. Whole neighborhood's gone, we don't know what to do. I wanna tell 'em it's okay, but I know It's a mess. I can't lie to 'em. I'm holdin' on, ain't no way I was sayin' Bye to 'em. A rescue team in the sky Hopin' it fly to 'em. Yeah, they gon' get Saved, but don't apply to 'em. It really hurt 'cause all they can do is Cry to Him. I love him so much. And in this day and age, people don't say That a lot. People don't say I love you Or I appreciate you. And I love him just for being genuine, Just for coming out because of me. If we had more of this, Houston would be The number one. And that's why they call it The King City, because always know where it's his Heart. It's not all this showtime and all this Stuff. It's just love, love. And I'm sick and I couldn't do this. The body count is risin', family members missin', Others tryna survive. They don't know the condition, But yet they hope they alive. They need help 'cause they feel like they ain't Gon' make it inside. Feelin' everything over, they Somewhere battlin' pride. They only last lead. Everything was lost, help denied. Shelters closin', now they back outside. Home is gone, it ain't nowhere to go. Survival mode is go for what you know. Life is real, so now we on our own. Government was gone and they was wrong. These circumstances where they don't belong. FEMA denied, I told 'em to get 'em a Loan. Bunch of people took advantage of the Situation. Got the money and collected with no Hesitation. Put they face up in the camera like They here to help. Lied to the people, then Abusin' 'em the frustration. What about the ones who hit rock bottom? And the kids who traumatized in poverty? It ain't the truth if I tell you they Ain't a part of me. Ain't nothin' close when You feel like you got so far to be. One thing for sure, I'm here to fight for. Do right for, I'm tryna shine light for. Everybody need help, but they need hope. Hopin' one day gonna end up bein' light for 'em. Just wanted to get things to Tray, The truth he is. Honestly, Doin' it from the bottom of his heart. He doesn't care about the showmanship or anything Like that. He came out into our home and Blessed us so many times. We were able to get a Christmas tree from Him to celebrate Christmas in our house that is Being rebuilt. And now he's blessing us with this, more gifts. We don't have enough words in the English language Or any other to tell him how much appreciate. Me dedicated to front line. Time that came and time that went. We sacrificed our life, countless hours spent. Children sleepin' on floors, some sleepin' in tents. Our faces covered in masks, can't take the scent. Movin' on impulse, days only get worse. So many cries swellin', God, you wanna get a Nurse. We only wanna see 'em make it to A better day. Tell 'em that the love unconditional For what it's worth. Over 500 million, why the City hurt? Tray the Truth and Mr. Rogers only people workin'. All boots to the ground, gettin' holes in 'em. Heard people talkin', but they actions say they Wouldn't serve. I gotta fight, I don't agree with How they doin' us. They say the city back To normal, that was new to us. I told a bunch kids I got 'em for The holiday. Imagine witnessin' a list that say a Toothbrush. I feel like I wanna punch through a Wall. I know a lot of people need it, So I'm standin' up tall. Before they get power, Relief gang gon' answer they call. And help 'em assist, no matter if we riskin' It all. Although it's dark, tell 'em we are One. It ain't never gon' be over until we Are done. I know that one day we gon' See our sun. If it's any type of pressure, Tell 'em we don't run. If I had to Say anything to the relief gang, I just want To thank God for Tray, Mr. Roger. Last week, he talked to me, Came in, Told us what was going to happen. And then yesterday he came in and he brought Supplies. He brought equipment. He brought a great basketball player. You know, I like, I love the Rockets. My name's Houston, so I love the Rockets. I love all of you. But, and the most part that I love about Is that my 14-year-old son so had my, He look, he has something to look up to As being a single mom. You know it's Hurricane Harvey, it's time to get To those in need. I got the homie with Me today. Hey. H-Town, where we at right now? Representin' that Tray. Thank You.
