Chilcott: The Shepherd's Carol

We stood on the Hills, Lady, our days well done, Watching the frosted Meadows that Winter Won. Lady, we was come waiting, the air So Still. Silence more loving Than Music, so heaven's silence. There Was a star, lady, Shone in the night. Larger than Venus it was and Bright, so bright. Oh, high from the sky, Lady, it Seemed to us Then To be the guardian angel And So we have come, Lady, Love our Hopes Are on sweet death.
