Cadillacin’ Commentary

Well, I say let's go ahead and play the Music for people who are listening. Um, and I wanna just kinda go through each Song, talk about it a little bit, and, And then play the song for people. So we're gonna start out with, uh, Cadillacin'. I mean, and this song to me, I mean, It just sorta screams cool attitude, state of mind. So tell me about writing Cadillacin'. Was it sort of a putting a lyrical visual To the swagger of the band? Well, it's a cool attitude and a state of Mind. Yeah. You know? No, we had that title, I had that title in my phone forever, and I sat down the back of the bus one Day and just started playing that riff with a Kind of a ZZ Top drumbeat thing. A lot of our songs start out with a ZZ Top drumbeat-type thing, um, And their vibe, you know? We just, I love that band. So Neil walked by and goes, "Oh, that's cool." I go, "Yeah, but this riff, I'm never gonna Be able to play this live" 'cause it was A really intense riff. And, um, we just started writing a story about Making Cadillac, Cadillacin' a verb. And I don't know, man, we just... It was a lot of fun. We had a Lot of fun writing that one. I think there Was probably a little bit of beer involved, and We wrote it over the course of two days, I do remember that. I think we were out With J. Cole or something. Yeah, we wrote that One, it was quite a while ago now. I mean, it could've been on the last record, But it just didn't really fit, and so-We Knew we were gonna put it on this one, Though. Yeah. Each album sorta has, like, a, one Of our, like, at least one of our kinda Badass, like, moments that's sort of like a thesis Statement for who we are, and that one's this On that album. Well, I have to ask kind Of an obvious question. I mean, do any of You own a Cadillac, or is that, uh, something You aspire to do at all? We're waiting for them to give us one. Yeah. Um-Seems kinda obvious. Do you know somebody over there? It's, it's... Yeah, no, I don't. We all have a bunch of toys, but not, Not a Cadillac yet. Not yet. Not yet. Yeah. If Cadillac would make us a Tour bus, though, that'd Yeah, that look like a Calla-That'd be sick. That'd be amazing. Now we're, now we're onto Something. Hey, oh. I'll been saying that for years, By the way. I've been saying that since the Beginning. Well, maybe somebody will finally listen, but let's Go ahead and play Cadillacin'.
