We're listening to the Cadillac Three's new album, Tabasco and Sweet Tea. It's out now. You can stream it, you can Download it, and we're talking to the guys about Every song on the album. And it's really interesting. The writing on this album, it's so clever, And there are just some really great lines on Here as well. For instance, in Bridges, There's a line about a blonde tightrope over Troubled water. I just thought that was a really Cool line, and this song is actually kind of Profound. So tell people about Bridges. We wrote that with Frank Rogers on the back Of the bus. I think he's an extremely prolific, Awesome country western songwriter. But he'd come out on the road with us A bunch of times, and at that point we Had not started writing the funk thing yet. And so we were just writing hits or whatever. And then Frank is extremely gifted with coming into A songwriting session with, like, Something. Yeah, he could show up. He's got the list titles and ideas, And when we get on an idea, he's really Quick to just, like, spit out a whole bunch Of lyric, which is always great because then, You know, you can just kind of jump in, Figure out what you like, what you don't like. Mean-He's also, like-a great guitar player. He-Yeah, he's awesome you know, he's, he's produced More hits than most people in Nashville. And so it's like the fact that he can Show up on our bus, write a song like Bridges, where... You know, I, I'm pretty sure that was his Title. Oh, definitely. And for a guy that's, Like, a really well-known, renowned hit producer in Nashville, also had a bunch of number one commercial Country songs, to be able to kind of show Up in South Carolina or wherever we were and Write a song like Bridges and be as excited About that as he was about anything else he's Ever done in his career is just a testament To, like, who he is, in the same way We were talking about. You know? And I was against Frank Rogers coming on the Bus with us. This is-Yeah this is where Frank Rogers actually comes into the situation on This thing is because they'd been pitching Management or publishers or whoever-I had to talk You into it yeah, had been saying, "Frank Rogers Should come out and write with us on the Bus." And I'm like, "Frank Rogers, I don't care About that And then I did a songwriter's round With him down in Florida, and I sat next To him, and those things are pretty intense. You know, it gets pretty wild. And him and I got hammered drunk and had A blast. And so I was like, "Okay, man, you can Come on the bus." We kind of keep tight circles, you Yeah. Well, you have to. You don't want some dickhead On the-Yeah you know what I mean? You Don't want somebody in your situation for three or Four days if you don't like them, and so You gotta be careful who you bring on the Bus. And so it's-Jaren's really smart about that. At the same time, like, you know-Stubborn he'll Write with somebody sometimes and be like, "Man, We've gotta bring this guy out." Or I'll be like, "Hey, we've gotta bring this Guy out." And you know, most of the time There's... I can't really think of anybody we've Brought. I mean, maybe one or two, but not Very many where we've been like, "Yeah, let's not Do that again" you know? Because I think that if you're gonna bring them Out, the bus is our house, you know? And so it's like if you're gonna bring them To the bus, it's like, it's basically like saying Like, "Hey, you wanna move in for the weekend?" Yeah. You know? And that's-To answer your question About Bridges, Frank's title, he brings it up and You could write that all day long. I mean, I saw three country stars in the Last four weeks come out with songs called Bridges. Yeah, just saying. I knew that had been done, And it's what it is. I was like, "Well, If we're gonna do this, we gotta put it In a vein that makes me wanna even be A part of this. Or more importantly, Listen to it when it's done." And that's usually the hardest part about writing Songs is like, why am I listening to this At the end? What's the reasoning? So we literally sat there and Frank, Like I said, he's, he's brilliant. But all that, "She was a blonde. Eyes of a trouble water. I almost made it to cross." If you tie the girl the whole time to The different bridges and stuff, it's brilliant. And that was him. We just put it in A Cadillac kind of vein. So he did a lot of hard work on There. Good job, Frank. Yeah. We love you, Frank. Well, here it is. It's called Bridges. It's on the Cadillac Three's new album, Tabasco and Sweet Tea. It's available now, and this is Big Machine Radio.
