Whoo. What did I tell you? This album is funky, and it is the new One from The Cadillac Three, Tabasco & Sweet Tea. It is available now wherever you stream or download Your music. And we're talking to the guys from TC3, Jaren, Neil, and Kelby, and they're just taking Us deep inside some of these songs, 'cause this Is kind of a unique project for them. And the next one is Stop That Girl, And I kinda feel like this one could be A cousin to Tabasco & Sweet Tea. And Jaren and Neil, I know you had a Hand in writing this one, so tell me about Stop That Girl. James McNair. Yeah, we-He had that hook, I think. Yeah, we had James out. That was the first Song that I co-wrote with Jaren for the record. I remember being on the back of the bus, And he was real fired up about Tabasco and Maybe a couple other things that we didn't Ultimately end up putting on the record, but that Were early songs for the record. And we got back there, and we spent the Weekend kinda writing a few songs, and that was A cool one just because what I love about That song is it's got that funky thing. It's got a great feel to it, but it Also kinda has that country twist on the hook, You know? It, it comes back around, and stop That girl means a different thing by the end Of the chorus. And at the time, James just Had the four-week number one with Luke Combs. He's making his way as a country western hit Songwriter. So can you imagine when he throws a Title out like Stop That Girl, which we could Take it down that road. We could take it down Hit central, right? And then I start going, He's Like... I should've given him, like-Yeah Let's Take Some Acid or something as a-as a title. And so he's like, "I just threw away this Great hit title," which is... We'd all know is hard to come by in- In songwriting. But man, like, as soon as we Got into it and we started writing it, "God Forbid she throw another quarter in the jukebox. Shit, there goes a roof." He's like, "I'm in." Yeah. "I am in." And so it's so fun to watch, like, the Guy that's trying to make his name as a Hit songwriter in town, and he's out on the Road to write songs with us because we do That quite a bit on the road with songwriters. And so it... He's like, "Oh," and then it Clicks when I play him Tabasco & Sweet Tea. He's like, "Oh, Cadillac's writing a new record. This is exciting." Yeah, he got real fired up. He did, man. And early on, we didn't know What to call the record, so we were just Calling it the, the Funk Tree record because we Didn't know what it was. And, and so h- For months, he would text me and Jaren, and We'd written all these songs. And he'd be like, "Man, I'm excited about that Funk Tree." 'Cause he's really good at that. There's a behind-the-scenes thing that goes on in Nashville about trying to make sure your songs get Cut. Yeah. And, he's real good at that thing. He's real good at just, like, kinda checking in, Being a really positive dude. We just got a, we have got a song With Keith Urban that just came out, and he's Been texting Jaren and I every screenshot he can Find on the internet about anything positive about That song-like it's gonna be a single. Yeah. And Jaren and I are both kinda sitting Around going like, "Yeah, I mean, that'd be awesome, But I mean, I'm not sure if that's gonna Happen." You know? holding my breath there, Yeah. But, it's like, man, he's, like, keeping the Positivity in the room, and that's the thing that's So great about James. And that was the thing That he brought that day to Stop That Girl. Well, and I wanted to ask Kelby, I mean, We all pretty much know you as the lap Steel player in The Cadillac Three, but you took On a, a different role for this album. You did not play any lap steel. So tell me about playing nothing but bass for The Tabasco & Sweet Tea record. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's been a lot Of fun. You know, I started off playing guitar When I was younger, and then, you know, when We were growing up together and jamming with each Other, and then I played bass for a while In our, in our old band and then figured Out this hybrid bass lap steel thing that I've Been doing for years. But when this stuff came Up, it was not leaning towards a lap steel Sound. You know, it was like that funky stuff Just needs the funky bass lines. So we put some funky bass lines on it, You know? And I think that it's gonna be Fun figuring that out live, which we're starting to Rehearse that stuff. You know, and, you know, being Able to stand up again will be fun to Kinda you know? 'Cause I can do that. I have legs. Um. Quote, quote of the day right Yeah, who knew That Kevin Ray had legs? Kevin, Kevin got legs. Lieutenant Dan, you got, you had legs. Magic legs. And I don't even know how to follow that Up, so here it is. Stop That Girl off Tabasco & Sweet Tea, The new album from The Cadillac Three.
