We are celebrating the release of the Cadillac Three's new album Tabasco and Sweet Tea, And you just heard Head Over Wheels, Which was basically a metaphor of a woman in The shape of a car. And the next one We're gonna talk about is Sweet Southern Spirit, And the thing that kinda hit me when I Got to this point in the album is that There are a lot of sexy women on this Album in these songs. So tell me about Sweet Southern Spirit. We have amazing wives. Sweet Southern Spirit is easy to write when you Have something to lean on like that. There's a endless book of things that you can Pull from as a songwriter when you go through Life with a woman like I have or w- With a woman like he has or with-Mm-hmm A woman like he has, and it's fun because You know at the end of it, if you Do it right, you can't wait to play it For her. You know what I mean? So that's so much fun to look for. So you try to write it as good as You can. Like, Sweet Southern Spirit, I think that's Probably one of my favorite songs on the record Just because when we're playing it live, like, we've Been rehearsing this stuff, and, like, every time we Get done with it, I look at Neil, I Look over at Kevin, I'm like, "That's a hit." I mean, it's funky and weird, and it's a Cadillac song. Probably nobody's gonna play it, but That's a hit. You know what I mean? It's Exciting. 'Cause it's got all the stuff that we, That we care about-Yeah in it. It's got the girls, which obviously is most of Our world outside of, like, the kids and stuff, And then it's got, like, Skynyrd. It's got all the, it's got all the stuff We grew up on. When I'm with her, I'm Watching Lynyrd Skynyrd front and center saying, Hey, lean and shake that thing. Make a fella wanna buy that pawn shop ring. Send a text, send a kiss. Dude, come on. We'll just a cappella the whole Record for you. Listen, if you wanna sing the Entire thing to me, I'm not gonna stop you. But I wanna ask you about a particular line In this song because it's either a really good Or a really bad pickup line. Daddy must been a fisherman, mama must have been A cook 'cause that lady and gentleman made a Girl make a bass wanna... Put a lip on a hook. So the original One was like, I was like, how do I Make myself the bass? I didn't have enough room 'cause it's only, it's, Like, four bars or eight bars. It's-You're good at putting a lot of words In a small space-Yeah though. I'm getting paid by every lyric. Come on, it's good. But, so you get to The end of it, and I was like, daddy Must have been a fisherman. Mama must have been a cook. 'Cause that lady and gentleman made a girl that Make a bass put a lip on a hook. I was trying to-Somehow-it works I was Trying to get, made a girl that make a Fella wanna put a lip on a hook. Bass. But fella's got two... So I was like, Let's just go bass and country it out 'cause It fits everything else. It's good. So I'm the bass. All right. Well, I'll just call you Billy from Now on. But here it is. This is Sweet Southern Spirit. You'll find it on TC3's new album. Get it wherever you stream or download your music 'cause it is out now.
