The Cadillac Three's brand new album, Legacy, Is out now, and we are giving you a Chance to preview the entire album, and we're Talking to the guys about all the songs. Now, the next song we're gonna play is called Ain't That Country. The song to me, it paints Such a specific picture. It's got so many descriptive lines in it. Um, I wonder was there a specific person that You were sort of channeling when you were writing This, or was it supposed to just kind of Represent the every man or maybe even somebody that You see in your crowds? I liked this one. Neil's really liked this one At the beginning, and we cut this towards the End of the record because he's like, "Hey, don't Forget about this. Don't forget about this." And he's been doing that for like three years, 'cause we wrote it a long time I tried To put this on the first record, I think. So I mean, I've been fighting for this song For a long time, but it finally made sense. It really wouldn't have made sense any time before. Right. And, and the cool thing about... I always liked it. When we got actually listen To it and then looked at the songs that We'd cut, and Where we are in our career, and what people Have said about us, you know, whether it's radio People or whoever, promoters or whatever, You know, that think, "Nah, it's a little too Rock" or whatever. I thought this was a cool Title just because the way you read it, It could be read two ways. Ain't That Country or Ain't That Country, You know. They ain't that country, but... Or Ain't That Country. It was a contender for The album title-Yeah for that reason. And I just thought it was a really cool... James Slater came in with that idea, And we wrote it. And I like how honest it is, and there's A couple lines in there that are just killer That really, it could be me to a T Or it could be this dude from Texas. It's real, you know what I mean, like a Solid corn-fed boy. You know what I mean? That kind of thing. I don't know. It-it, I really like that Song, and the production I thought was really cool. We took it kind of old school. Yeah, we totally-it's totally different than the way That we had originally kind of demoed it. Yeah. And I always like songs that, like the Last line of that song reveals that, Like, you're in the song. Like, you don't really-Yeah know the whole song Until the last line Yeah, I laughed a little Too loud, stayed up too late. Mm-hmm. Uh, uh, just like my daddy did. Right. That's cool. Well, and that's why when I Was listening to it, I was trying to think, "Okay, is this about a guy that they have In their mind?" And then when you get to The last verse where you talk about, um, It's me and you. It's, it's every American. I thought, "Oh, okay, maybe it's just supposed to Be an all-encompassing-Yeah I think it's both. I mean, I think it's-It's whatever you take From it. Yeah. That's the j-I like that You're interpreting general answer. What do you think? Well, everything's a character Really, and sometimes I try to be the character, But... All right. I'll just go ahead and play the Song. Here's Ain't That Country off Legacy from TC3 On Big Machine Radio.
