Ship Faced Commentary

That's another new track off the Cadillac Three's New album, Bury Me in My Boots. That's called Party Like You. And have you ever been in a situation where You didn't really want something until you realized Everybody else wanted it, and then you thought, "Wait, wait, wait. You can't have it"? Well, that's kind of the story behind this next Song off the Cadillac Three's new album. Let me say this carefully. It's called Shipfaced, and it's actually a hilarious Song that Jaren Johnston co-wrote, and he originally Started pitching this song to other artists before He realized it was a song the Cadillac Three Needed to put on their own album. Shipfaced. I wrote this with Jared Neeman and Brent Anderson, And we were writing for Jared's record. And he came in with that title, and I Just started dying laughing. I was like, "There's no way in hell we Can do this." And then I was like, "Well, Maybe we can do this." Brent started playing a Riff, and we got through with it, And I did the demo, and I sang it. And, uh, I thought it was a cool story, And I w-and I started pitching it around A little bit. And immediately Dierks Bentley took It. Jake Owen took it. And so we, we were... Neil and I were Talking in the back lounge, and we were like, I was like, "I gotta play this for you Because you, you guys are gonna be mad at Me and so will the label if I give This away and it is as big of a Hit as people think it is." Didn't Dierks text you-Yeah, yeah "Are you sure You guys don't want to record this?" Yeah. And Dierks, and Dierks called me and said, "Buddy, I'm just saying you should do this." And I played it for Neil, and it was Like, "There's no way we can give this song Away." So we ended up keeping it, and, Uh, uh, it's... We, we've been playing it live. It's a lot of fun. It's very different for Us, but, uh, hell, long hairs like the lake, Too. I'm glad they didn't let this one get Away. Again, it's called Shipfaced.
