We met in that small town. Our lives were simple. Simple it was. Sunrises, sunsets on our porch. It was enough. It was always enough. If we had troubles in that old house We called a home. We kicked them like an old tin down that Old country road. We built a home. The letters came each day. We live as one, Yet we live alone. Different people with the same name. Our lives changed. We've become lost along the way. We lost that loving feeling, As the song says. That's what the song says. The address says you live here. Everything you do says you don't. Where there's a will, There's a way. The way I know you says you won't. Don't have to be gone For you to not be here. You don't seem to care 'bout the stains on The letters. They're from all of my tears. You're in the same place, But you can't hear My voice shouting out Loud about my anger and my Fears. I can't make you love me. Your lack of words says you won't. The address says we live together, But our actions say we don't. The address says you live here. Everything you do Says you don't. Where there's a will, There's a way. The way I know you says you won't. You don't have to be gone for you to Not be here. You don't seem to care about the stains on The letters. They're from all of my tears. The tears are now gone. An empty swing on the porch. The address didn't change, But we did for sure. You are now gone. Vows of sickness and health No longer live at this address. I sit here now alone. I just wanna heal.
