Not Like Us Commentary

Well, isn't that a great way to start off The Fire and Brimstone album release special? It's track one off the album. I am Becca, and we're sitting here talking to Brantley Gilbert about all the songs on this album. And the next song I wanna talk about is Not Like Us. That's the song that your tour is named after. And whenever I listen to a song, I try To read the lyrics, I try to think about What do I feel like it's about, and what Were you trying to intend it to be about? And so I kind of got the impression that Not Like Us was calling out the wannabes. Am I anywhere close? Is that what was happening In this song? Yeah. I mean, it was kind of a shot at The wannabes. But everybody, I feel like... I know I had my group of friends. When we'd throw down, we'd throw the best parties Ever, in our mind. But, you know, right down the road, next county Over, there's a group of fellas a-and girls That are throwing down. They probably think, you Know, they throw the best party ever or have The best time, make the best memories ever. So I think everybody's got a little bit of That going on. So it's kind of not so Much wannabes, it's just the outsiders. You know what I mean? Like, "This is our Group. Nobody does it like us." And for this song in particular, it's kind of Inadvertently targeting the BG Nation. Like, "Hey, man, there's a lot of folks out There, but nobody does it quite like us." And the fact that you chose to name your Entire tour this year off of this song, I mean, I sort of feel like this is A tip of the hat to BG Nation and Letting people know, "Nobody does it quite like us." Yeah. It exactly covers the, I don't want to Say sentiment, but, but the energy of the song And, and the theme of the song is just, "Hey, man, we're coming out to give you everything We got." And, you know, if you come to This show, you may see a lot of them, But nobody does it like us. I can't even dispute that, 'cause I've seen you In concert a few times and, man, you guys Put on a heck of a show. This is Not Like Us, off Brantley Gilbert's brand New album, Fire and Brimstone.
