Brantley Gilbert is back with his Fire and Brimstone Album, and man, he gave fans a bunch of Songs. And so we're going track by track and Finding out what exactly was going on when Brantley Was writing some of these songs. And the one that we're gonna play next is Welcome to Hayesville. And you know, the video is hilarious. It's animated, and some of the lyrics are just Crazy. So I had to imagine that just writing This one and coming up with the lines had To be a lot of fun. So take me Into the writing room and tell me about writing Welcome to Hayesville. Oh, Hayesville. I don't think we have to go in depth Too far on what the song's about. I have to be careful with the term sobriety. I haven't drank in almost eight years or, You know, there's some other stuff in there. But I am a Willie Nelson fan in more Ways than one. And this song kind of just, I'd never written just a smoking song, So it was kind of all the rules are Out the window. We were just able to have Fun with it, say what we wanted to, and Run with it. So it was definitely a lot Of fun. It was a lot of fun. I can only imagine. And you also have some really fun guest stars On Welcome to Hayesville. You've got Colt Ford. I know you two have Been running together for a long time. You've got Willie Nelson and his son Lucas Nelson. So I'm curious, has Willie heard the finished Product, and what is his opinion of this song? I don't know if everybody does this or not, But I like to, once I team up with Somebody on a song, I like to send it Back to them and say, "Hey, you cool with It?" And they loved it. He and Lucas and Colt, all three just absolutely loved it. So that was a good feeling too. Was like, "All right, we're good. They like it. We're firing it up." Yeah. When you get Willie's stamp of approval, I Guess nothing else really matters. So Without further explanation, this is Welcome to Hayesville. It's new from Brantley Gilbert on Big Machine Radio.
