Tough Town Commentary

That's one I had to listen to a few Times when I first heard it because it was Just so incredible. That was Lost Soul's Prayer on Big Machine Radio, And we have Brantley Gilbert with us today. He is leading us through every song on his Brand new album, Fire & Brimstone, which is Available now, and sharing some of his perspective. And the next one we're gonna play is called Tough Town. And I mean, to me, this seems Like a straightforward man, woman, Small town, blue collar anthem just celebrating the People. And I wonder, was there maybe a particular Place that you had in mind when you were Writing this song, or was it just about the Faces that you see when you look out into Your crowds every night? What inspired Tough Town? Little bit of everything. There's just a lot of The towns we work for. Even when we play big cities, these people are, A lot of them, not most of them, are Traveling from small towns like mine. So of course, it's about my hometown, and there Is a hardware store in town my papa used To hang out at all the time, and they Have pictures on the wall in the old Crawford W. Long Pharmacy in town of what the city Used to look like back then. And back then to now, it's just a group Of hardworking people. So that song's just about the blood, sweat, and Tears that are the towns we grow up in And live in, and it's kind of that in A nutshell. I have a feeling that this one Is gonna go over huge live when you play It in concert. This is Tough Town on Big Machine Radio off Brantley Gilbert's brand new Album, Fire & Brimstone.
