Rockin’ Chairs Commentary

The very first song on this album is called Rocking Chairs. Tell me a little bit about this Song and, uh, how you came to write it. My papa and his buddies used to sit around An old wood stove at a hardware store called Kenny's in the small town of Jefferson, Georgia, Where I grew up. And I remember one of My favorite things to do as a kid was Go there and sit around and listen to them Tell their stories, you know, when they were young And in trouble and just acting up. And I remember this old fella used to sit In the corner and he didn't ever talk, and They used to say it's 'cause he never did Nothing. So, you know, Rocking Chairs is, since my papa Passed away, that's one of the things that I Remember about him were his stories and his Memories. And I remember them sitting around and Telling them stories, and it's all about living a Life so that you got some stories to tell. I wanna live so that I have stories to Tell when I'm sitting around in my rocking chair.
