Way Back Commentary

Just a few minutes ago we were talking about The fact of, uh, how your wife Amber is All over this record, and I know you say This next song, Way Back, it's pretty much your Relationship getting back together word for word. And you were actually telling me that there was A funny story the last time you guys finally Broke up. So what were you saying? I remember I got a bunch of stuff together, A bunch of love notes, just like mixed tape CDs and stuff-and pictures, and put them all In this thing and dropped them off at her Door, and she got pissed and dropped them back Off at mine. And I remember my brother Jeremy, One of my biker brothers, got it. It was in a box, and he said, "Man, You need to throw this away." And I said, "I'm not throwing it away." And we, we... me and him got in a Fight, fist fight-in his driveway that night over That box. He said, "Man, you gotta do something About it or you gotta move on." And I was like, "No, I'm not getting rid Of it." And I made a deal with him. I said, "I tell you what. You do something With it. Just put it up, but promise me You won't burn it or-Yeah, destroy it trash It." And, uh, it was the craziest thing in The world. When we got back together about two Weeks after that, Jeremy's my stage manager now, One of the closest people to me in the World. He called and he said, "Hey brother, I Got a surprise for you. Come on up to the house." And I drove Up, and he had that box-Oh my gosh In the toolbox of his truck, and was cleaning Out his truck and found it. Wow. And he gave it back to me, and We've got it.
