Against The World Commentary

That's one of the demo songs you'll get on The deluxe version of Brantley Gilbert's The Devil Don't Sleep album, which is out now, and we Are celebrating the release of that album by talking To Brantley. And, you know, Brantley, one of the Things that you have been very vocal about is That you have successfully overcome alcohol and Opiate addiction, and you're not afraid to talk About that. But I wonder, you know, some people Say there are no regrets in life, and things Happen for a reason. I know that in your Songwriting, sometimes we sort of hear little things From your past that maybe pop back up and Maybe haunt your writing. So, uh, would you say that you're a no Regrets kind of guy, or do you feel like Maybe there are some things that still kind of Haunt you? A little bit of both. You'll meet people, I think, who, maybe not ashamed, Just uncomfortable talking about addiction or Talking about things that they've struggled with in Life. I am one of the guys that says I wouldn't change anything, because it got me where I am today, and I like where I am. But I'm also a guy that's proud of the Fact that I got through it. You know, I went to war with something and Beat it, and I beat it every day, and I'm a fighter. I like that. I like the battle. It's a challenge, and hell, Bring it on. The devil don't sleep. He's always right there on your shoulder. He's always around the corner. That's what this Record's always about. And I'm not just trying to Drag us back to the record, but literally, Completely, this record is about, even though this Has been an awesome chapter, I got married, My wife is my favorite part of me. There's a lot of great things going on, but The devil don't sleep. But it is a battle. And I got two of the best teammates in The world. I got my wife and I got God, and you know what?
