I wake up to murder, death and mayhem blowing Up my news feeds echoing off the lips of Friends. The never-ending life offending, Heart-rending tale of tragedy and injustice, And it feels like we failed as a species To rise up from the muck and to move On to reach new heights that we should have Aspired to. Yeah, we should desired to make morality Normality and cast away brutality. I know. It's hard for us to make a Change. Yeah, I know. The more we change, we stay the same. Is this who we truly are? Self-destructive falling stars blindly burning out 'til we turn into hunks of hollow char. This world will keep on turning even if we're Burning. When will we start learning to live As one? Oh, child, stop your crying. Get up and keep on trying. There's no use in denying we live as one. Okay, so truthfully, I'm not the best example. I know at best I'm really just another sample Of the greed and the lust, privilege, lies, Broken trust, a paragon of virtue. I know that ain't true, but at least I Know the kind of person that I am, and Once you know, you can begin to learn and Begin to plan how to be a better man, How to be a better soul, how to live Your life in a way that you can feel Whole.
