Change the World

I tried to change the world, but I guess the world didn't want to Change. I tried to find a place here To make some space dear to you and I. But nothing ever Seems to change. An endless circle, round and round we go Again. Would it be okay if I Just lay down and took a Breath? I'm tired of feeling tired Of this mess. I try to make some sense of The way we hurt the ones we should Help. Why kindness is seen as Weakness, and empathy A disease to cure. But I just can't understand This place. This self-destructive, Selfish rat race. Would it be okay if I Just lay down and close my Eyes? I'm tired of feeling tired Of these lies. Am I asking for too much? Is it wrong to want a moment to Recover? To try to rediscover why I should care If we won't care for one another. Maybe it's best if we Just rest. And try to ignore this Burning world. I tried to change the world, but I guess the world didn't want to Change. I guess I'll try Tomorrow, forget my Sorrow, And turn the page.
