Confessions of Santa Claus

New Year’s star and Christmas tree, kids’ laughter fills the air So raise your glasses high, success is waiting-so be aware The New Year promises to be a beacon of kindness and cheer Wishing happiness and joy, and all that good stuff, my dear With mandarins in hand With the tree all decked out grand May success follow you As the New Year comes into view But while we’re stuck in the old grind, just lend me your ear I’ll read you some prose, about the meaning of being here Everyone’s important, living in the now Each should live like a God, but we’re all stuck somehow The cosmic essence, the universal vibe Everything happening to you, it’s your inner tribe I am God, the start of it all, that’s what my kin did decree These slave-like struggles, the root of your misery With mandarins in hand With the tree all decked out grand May success follow you As the New Year comes into view But let’s get back to mandarins, to our tree all aglow To those quirky New Year’s toys, and that olivie salad show To your tired old faces, to your boring little spree To your endless “give me more,” with a constant “I don’t have enough” plea Give me a husband, give me a wife Give me money, beauty, and a thrilling life! Give me more Give me a car, a steamer, an airplane and new a life With mandarins in hand With the tree all decked out grand May success follow you As the New Year comes into view With mandarins in hand With the tree all decked out grand May success follow you As the New Year comes into view May success follow you As the New Year comes into view
