What That Is

What's house music to me? Well, Well, let's just say it's definitely not a fantasy. It's... And it's definitely not a figment of my imagination, You see, 'cause it's real. Not that, uh, I know of anybody that ever Questioned That if it was real or not. House music is something that is to be consumed, Much like food. It gives me energy. House music. You know, I, I treat house music As if it was a child, and I, I Just wanna take care of it. I just wanna watch it. I just wanna Stand back and watch it grow and see where It goes, you know? And it always surprises me Every day. The things that it does. House music. House music allows us to congregate without Prejudice, you know? And when I'm on that floor, I'm not, I'm not seeing a doctor. I'm not seeing a lawyer. I don't see a nurse. I don't see that brother that drives a bus. I, I see people. I see beautiful people. I see people from all over the world, and, And they speak different languages, and are all in Different shapes and sizes and colors and creeds and Religion, and... But to me, all I see is somebody dancing And, and feeling the same way I feel at That moment in time. It's, It's so surreal. It's so... Well, if I had to just, to, to come Up with a word to describe, just one word To describe it, it would just be love. Yeah, that, that's it. It would just be love. A-a-and only because it's that feeling that, that Over-that overcomes. It takes us. It controls us, and we, we can't understand it. I can't understand it. Uh, all I, all I do is write the Words, you know? And I, I don't know where They come from. I, I can't explain it. But I do it. I hear it. I, I feel it. I... It's there. It's real. I, it... It's all in the air. It's, much like the air that we breathe, and We We take it in like that, you know? It feels good, feels good. It's much more than something that you can see And point to and say, "That's what that is. That's not what that is. That's, that's what that is," but that's not what I'm talking about. House is a feeling. Okay, I said it. I'll say it again. House is a feeling. And no matter where you are, you can get That feeling. You could be at home washing dishes. You could be in your car on your way To work. You could be walking down the street. You could be in the gym. You could be Anywhere in the world, and you can get that Feeling. It don't matter. You don't have to be in a club. You don't have to be on the dance floor. Man, you don't even have to be listening to Music. It's because it's a feeling that you get. House music.
