Albéniz: Merlin - Opera in Three Acts - Revised: José de Eusebio - Act 2 - Peace, Peace

Peace, Peace. Lawless hate in my realm must Cease. God forbid we should Vengeance take. Pardon I grant you, For Jesus' sake. Pardon I grant you, as we Beseech God to pardon Us, grant Each. Mourn, my Sister, And scornfully treason. All human mercy, All human mercy In pride and Treason. Peril or fight in the foremost Fray, in the foremost fray. Fight our King Arthur and go Away. Away, Fair nephew, forego Your boldness. Kneeling, Vow me with solemn vow Nightly forever to sue All goodness, long as Afar your life shall Owe. Treason you shall plea. O wretched ever Would you live. Thine only seek cruelty. Mercy be the path that be Sought of us in distress. Never wrongful quarrel take For reward nor Wantleness.
